One of Johnny Cash’s signature songs, Folsom Prison Blues, shares a common bond with the 18 prison-made license plates that I used to create this license plate guitar art. The Man in Black was the perfect choice for the state of Arkansas, because he is a music legend. I featured his other great hit, Ring of Fire, around the sound hole, and used a June registration tag on one of the keys to symbolize the love of his life, June Carter.

The head stock and the words Man and Black are from vintage Michigan tags.
